Moving Along

I've been getting complaints that I haven't updated this in a while, I didn't even think anyone else read my blog! So, here I am...updating everyone.

I'll start off by saying that anyone who has ever bought furniture that you have to put together yourself and had no problems following those directions, I would like to shake your hand. Corey and I bought a TV stand, two entertainment towers and an end table for our living room and the end table alone kicked our butt! We haven't attempted to put together the TV stand or the towers yet, but that'll be interesting!! I'm terrible at following directions apparently. The house is getting closer to being moved to our property, we're waiting for a few things to pan out before we do move it and I'm hoping to be settled in by mid to late February. I'm excited and scared all at the same time. I've never lived away from home before, but the fact that this is "ours" is exciting to me! We went to Wal-Mart last night and bought a ficus tree for our living room...it was pretty hilarious to see us walking around Wal-Mart with a 5 foot tree in our cart, but we got it home and it looks nice, which is all that matters!

We're going this weekend to look for our Bridesmaid dresses, this is what has been holding me back from finally deciding colors. Hopefully we'll find something that all my girls are comfortable in and look really good too. We've got 3 showers planned already, so hopefully Corey and I will have enough room in our little house to fit all our gifts!!!

I just read a few days ago that Twilight comes out on DVD on March 31st! I am ecstatic about that...I know a few other people who are too :) Corey and I bought Fireproof last night, if anyone has not seen that movie than I recommend it, I think it is so good!

The Dress, The House, and The Plans

I can't believe it's already 2009, the days are passing by so fast. Which only leaves 168 days until I am married to some handsome guy ;) I haven't had time to slow down and fill everyone in (well, who ever reads this, that is).

For starters, I got my dress!!! It's such a funny story. Back at the beginning of 2008, I was looking at Jays Bridal website at all their pretty bridal gowns (just for the heck of it!), and I found this dress which I instantly fell in love with. I emailed a picture of it to my mom and I told her that I wanted to get married in that dress!! So, when the time came for me to actually try on some dresses I called Jays and asked if they had this particular dress in their store, in my size, they said no! So, I didn't think anything about it and tried on a few dresses that I liked, but left empty handed.

My sister and I were invited to be a part of the Gainesville Bridal Expo since we're so tall and they needed models. Basically, we have to model (on a runway) 3 bridal gowns and 3 bridesmaid dresses. When we went back to Jays for our Expo fittings, they handed me a dress to try on and lo and behold it was the dress I had called about before. It was just so ironic (and exciting) to me that I was going to be modeling the exact dress I wanted. So, I tried it on and it fit me perfectly. The only difference was it wasn't the traditional white, it was champagne, but since it is a lace dress, the overlay was ivory...think "vintage." I love everything about this dress, all except the price...it was about $200 over our budget and I was trying really hard to talk myself out it (sad, I know).

I went on Jays website at the beginning of this week just to look around for bridesmaid dresses and just figured I would refresh my memory with what "my" dress looked like and almost screamed when I saw that it was over 50% off, I caught it on their "sample sale!!!" I instantly called my mom, Corey's mom, Corey...and asked them what I should do! Needless to say, I went into Jays that afternoon, tried it on again and took that dress home with me. It's such a pretty dress, I really love it.

I have the reception hall booked and the church booked. I'm working on invitations and engagement pictures now. I have our colors narrowed down, for the most part. We've decided on chocolate brown, instead of black. Now that I have my dress and it's champagne we are glad we chose chocolate.

House News: We have the property completely cleared. It took a lot longer than anyone thought it would, but nonetheless it's finished and looks great (I will post pictures soon). They are moving our house out there on Monday and I'll start moving in soon.

School just started again, yay :( I am trying to maintain my sanity with all that is going on. Corey is thinking about a lot of decisions that need to be made with him, as far as work and medic school go. Keep us in your prayers. I hope everyone had a good New Years! How bout them Gators!!!!!!!!!!
