I'm sure everyone who knows me knows that I counted down the days until Corey's graduation while he was living in Ocala and going to Fire College. I know that 81 days is not a lot comparitively speaking and he wasn't THAT far away, but he wasn't home, which was very hard on me. I missed him every second of the day and 81 days seemed like 81 years. But I am so glad to say that time away from each other really paid off and Corey graduated at the top of his class on November 30, 2007.
Becoming a firefighter is hard, getting hired at a Station is even harder. Most places want "experienced" firefighters, not new graduates. We're still looking and putting in applications, but the wait continues. Please pray for Corey, getting hired on is a lot harder than he anticipated and it's stressful filling out all those applications!
On a better note, he did pass his EMT Certification Test, so he is officially a Firefighter/EMT!! I can honestly say that I have never been more proud of anyone.
